Moody's may up Hanover Insurance

Moody's Investors Service said it placed the Ba1 senior debt rating of Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. on review for upgrade, which reflects a continuation of favorable trends.

The agency said its review would focus on the company's plans for capital management activities and financial leverage.

In the short term, Moody's said it expects continued strengthening of risk-adjusted capitalization, as measured in part by gross underwriting leverage below 3.2 times, positive business flow from agents and prudent capital management.
