Barclays plans annual autocallable notes linked to Hang Seng China

Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 7 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price 0% annual autocallable notes due Dec. 27, 2013 linked to the Hang Seng China Enterprises index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be automatically called at par plus a call premium of 8% to 13% per year if the index closes at or above the initial level on Dec. 28, 2011, Dec. 21, 2012 or Dec. 23, 2013.

If the notes are not called, the payout at maturity will be par if the final index level is at least 70% of the initial level. Otherwise, the payout will be par plus the index return.

The notes (Cusip 06740PW77) will price Dec. 21 and settle Dec. 27.
