GTT Communications seeks long post-confirmation exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Feb. 15 – GTT Communications, Inc. is seeking a 120-day post-confirmation extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through June 28 and the solicitation period through Aug. 27.

The plan was confirmed on Dec. 16, as previously reported.

The company said that following confirmation, the debtors have moved as fast as possible to emerge from Chapter 11 and have made substantial progress.

“For reasons outside of the debtors’ control, however, namely obtaining regulatory approvals, the debtors will not be able to emerge from Chapter 11 prior to the expiration of the current exclusive periods,” the company said in its motion.

“Indeed, the debtors are seeking this extension solely out of an abundance of caution in the event that unforeseen issues arise prior to emergence.”

A hearing is scheduled for March 8.

GTT is a McLean, Va.-based cloud networking provider that filed bankruptcy on Oct. 31 under Chapter 11 case number 21-11880.
