GT Advanced: SEC conducting inquiry on trading, offering and business

Pittsburgh, Nov. 6 – GT Advanced Technologies Inc. said the Securities and Exchange Commission is conducting an inquiry into the trading activity in the company’s securities, as well as into GT’s sapphire business and securities offering going back to Jan. 1, 2013, according to an 8-K filed Thursday with the SEC.

The SEC is seeking information regarding these issues and requesting the preservation and production of documents.

The company said it is fully cooperating with the inquiry.

Merrimack, N.H.-based GT Advanced Technologies is a provider of equipment and services that support the growth of the solar and LED industries. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 6 under Chapter 11 case number 14-11916.
