GST AutoLeather seeks exclusivity extension amid marketing process

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 29 – GST AutoLeather, Inc. requested a 120-day extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period through May 31 and the solicitation period through July 30, 2018.

“In the midst of the marketing process, the debtors believe that maintaining the exclusive right to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan is critical to consummating their Chapter 11 strategy,” GST AutoLeather said in the motion.

“Extending the exclusivity periods will afford the debtors and their stakeholders time to finish their marketing process, negotiate and confirm a Chapter 11 plan and proceed toward consummation of these Chapter 11 cases in an efficient, organized fashion.”

GST, a Southfield, Mich.-based automotive leather manufacturer, filed bankruptcy on Oct. 3. The Chapter 11 case number is 17-12100.
