GS Finance plans buffered notes due 2024 tied to the S&P 500 index

Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 9 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% buffered notes due Oct. 31, 2024 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus the index return.
Investors will receive par if the index remains flat or declines by up to 16% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 16%.
Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is the agent.
The notes (Cusip: 40056XFS0) will price on Oct. 28 and settle on Oct. 31.
