GS Finance plans leveraged buffered notes due 2020 linked to EAFE ETF

Olympia, Wash., May 14 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due Nov. 30, 2020 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

If the ETF return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 2 times the ETF return, capped at $1,212 for each $1,000 face amount of notes.

Investors will receive par if the ETF declines by 10% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that the ETF declines beyond 10%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is the underwriter.

The notes will price on May 23.

The Cusip number is 40056FHS7.
