GS Finance to price leveraged buffered notes linked to S&P 500

Morgantown, W.Va., Jan. 31 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due Feb. 18, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 2 times the index return, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,215 to $1,245 per $1,000 principal amount of notes. Investors will receive par if the index declines by 10% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that the index may decline beyond 10%.
Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is the underwriter.
The notes are expected to price Feb. 12.
The Cusip number is 40056EU97.
