GS Finance plans five-year leveraged buffered notes tied to S&P 500

Morgantown, W.Va., March 27 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due March 31, 2022 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 1.15 to 1.25 times the index gain.

If the index falls by up to 15%, the payout will be par. Investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 15%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.

The notes will price on March 28.

The Cusip number is 40054KXT8.
