GS Finance plans 14-month capped leveraged notes linked to S&P 500

Morgantown, W.Va., March 21 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged notes due June 1, 2018 tied to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the index return, subject to a maximum payment of $1,134 to $1,152 per $1,000 principal amount. Investors will be exposed to any losses.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
The notes will price March 24.
The Cusip number is 40054KYU4.
