GS Finance plans leveraged buffered notes linked to iShares EAFE

Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 8 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% 15-month leveraged buffered notes linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 2 times any fund gain, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,160 per $1,000 principal amount.

If the fund falls by up to 10%, the payout will be par.

If the fund falls by more than 10%, investors will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 10%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the agent.

The Cusip number is 40054KRK4.
