New Issue: GS Finance prices $680,000 five-year buffered notes tied to S&P 500

Knoxville, Tenn., March 23 – GS Finance Corp. priced $680,000 of 0% buffered notes due March 25, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus the index return. If the index falls by up to 30%, the payout will be par. Investors will lose 1% for every 1% the index falls beyond 27%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
