New Issue: GS Finance prices $4.76 million trigger notes linked to S&P 500 index

Morgantown, W.Va., March 9 – GS Finance Corp. priced $4.76 million of 0% trigger notes due March 22, 2017 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the final index level is greater than or equal to 85% of the initial index level, the payout at maturity will be par plus 8.55%. If the final index level is less than 85% of the initial index level, investors will be fully exposed to the index’s decline from its initial level.
The index’s final level will be the average of its closing levels on the five trading days ending March 17, 2017.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter with JPMorgan as placement agent.
