Grupo TMM noteholders form informal committee

By Carlise Newman

Chicago, June 16 - Grupo TMM SA said holders of its 9½% senior notes due 2003 and 10¼% senior notes due 2006 have formed an informal committee.

The law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has been retained to represent the committee. The financial and legal advisors of Grupo TMM and the advisors of the holders of the notes will meet in the near future.

The company said previously it is exploring a number of alternatives regarding its liquidity, but not solvency, issues.

In May, the Mexico City-based transportation company said it terminated legal efforts surrounding its bond exchange due to possible irregularities.
