Minera Mexico prepays $106 million of debt

New York, May 4 - Grupo Mexico SA de CV said its Minera Mexico subsidiary made an early payment of $106 million on its debt.

Following the repayment, Minera Mexico has $773 million outstanding of the debt, which matures in 2007.

Grupo Mexico said Minera Mexico was able to make the payment because of its good operating performance, ongoing cost reductions and the rising price of copper.
