Grubb & Ellis gets more time to garner support for liquidation plan

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 9 - Grubb & Ellis Co. was granted its request to extend its exclusive period for soliciting votes on the plan of liquidation to March 15 from Jan. 14, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company filed the plan on Nov. 14, and the hearing for the approval of the disclosure statement was scheduled for Jan. 9.

As previously reported, presuming that the disclosure statement is approved on Jan. 9, Grubb & Ellis said there would not be enough time for it to solicit votes before the Jan. 14 exclusivity deadline.

Grubb & Ellis is a Santa Ana, Calif.-based real estate services and investment firm. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 20, 2012 under Chapter 11 case number 12-10685.
