Newfield repays, terminates credit agreement after Encana merger

Olympia, Wash., Feb. 20 – Newfield Exploration Co. repaid in full and terminated its amended and restated credit agreement dated as of March 23, 2018 with JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA as administrative agent, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The agreement was terminated in connection with Newfield’s acquisition by Encana Corp. in an all-stock transaction.

Wells Fargo Bank, NA, Bank of Nova Scotia, Houston Branch and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. were co-syndication agents, and BMO Harris Bank NA, Citibank, NA, Credit Suisse AG, Cayman Islands Branch, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. and U.S. Bank NA were co-documentation agents.

Newfield is an oil and gas company based in The Woodlands, Texas. Encana is a Calgary, Alta., oil and natural gas company.
