Icahn reduces stake in Greenbrier to less than 5%

Tacoma, Wash., July 22 - Greenbrier Cos., Inc. investors led by Carl Icahn and including American Railcar Industries, Inc. sold 712,485 shares of the company's stock between June 13 and July 22.

The shares were sold for $19.23 to $22.20 each, according to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The reporting persons beneficially own 817,515 shares, or 4.92%, of the company's common stock.

On June 20, the investors reported owning 8.17% of the Lake Oswego, Ore., railcar manufacturer.

In June, Icahn dropped talks with Greenbrier regarding a potential business combination with American Railcar Industries, according to a previous SEC filing.
