Rogers to repay some debt under bank facilities with notes’ proceeds

By Wendy Van Sickle

Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 1 – Rogers Communications Inc. plans to repay a portion of its outstanding debt under its bank credit facilities with some proceeds of an offering of senior notes due 2025 and 2044, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Advances under the facilities were used for general corporate purposes, including the payment at maturity of the company’s senior notes due 2015 and to help finance the acquisitions of Data & Audio - Visual Enterprises Wireless Inc. and Glentel Inc.

Rogers said remaining proceeds from the senior notes will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include the repayment of other outstanding debt.

Rogers is a Toronto-based telecommunications and media company.
