AerCap Holdings repays $170 of secured loans with senior note offering

By Tali David

Minneapolis, June 4 - AerCap Holdings NV repaid $170 million of its most expensive secured loans with the proceeds from a new senior note offering, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Refinancing the debt results in an approximately 500 basis points improvement in spread for a total of $27 million through 2015, AerCap said. The company paid $9 million in prepayment fees for the secured debt.

The remaining $130 million of proceeds will go toward acquiring additional aircraft assets, repaying debt and general corporate purposes.

AerCap is an independent aircraft leasing company based in Amsterdam.
