Midday Commentary: Primary issuance halts; spreads unchanged to wider in 'dead' secondary

By Aleesia Forni

Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 21 - Activity in the investment-grade bond primary market is expected to slow on Wednesday ahead of the closed session Thursday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

One trader noted that spreads in the secondary market were "mostly unchanged" early in the day, while another source noted a weaker open.

"Things are dead," the second source noted of the day's activity so far.
