Grant Thornton hires Imber, Porter as principals to restructuring unit

Madison, Wis., July 30 - Grant Thornton LLP has admitted Michael Imber and Jim Porter as new principals to its corporate advisory and restructuring services practice, effective Aug. 1, according to a news release.

Imber will be based in New York, and Porter will be based in Charlotte, N.C.

Imber has more than 20 years of experience in restructuring and finance. He recently completed a restructuring of an outdoor media company and presently represents unsecured creditors in the Forum Health bankruptcy.

Imber is currently New York chapter president of the Turnaround Management Association.

Porter has experience across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, retail and health care. He is currently working on the St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center bankruptcy. He also has experience with cross-border transactions and is a member of the Institute of Certified Accountants of England and Wales.

Porter is currently the treasurer of the Carolinas chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
