Granite Broadcasting sued for breach of syndication license agreements, companies seeking $30.4 million

Pittsburgh, Sept. 8 - Granite Broadcasting Corp. was served with a complaint Friday in a lawsuit filed by Twentieth Television and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. that alleges breach of three television syndication license agreements for non-payment of license fees and seeks more than $22.9 million in monetary damages, according to a company news release.

The suit was filed on Aug. 31 in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Los Angeles.

According to the filing, the company was also served with a complaint on Aug. 9 in a lawsuit filed on Aug. 4 by Warner Bros. Television Distribution, Inc. that alleges breach of several syndication license agreements for non-payment of license fees and seeks more than $7.5 million in monetary damages.

Granite is a New York-based owner and operator of network-affiliated television stations.
