Graftech plans to redeem $15 million more 10¼% notes

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, March 16 - Graftech International Ltd. plans to redeem an additional $15 million of its 10¼% senior notes due 2012 in March, according to a 10-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Graftech said that the purchases may be effected for cash, in exchange for stock or other securities, or a combination.

In February, the company redeemed $120 million of the 10¼% notes at 105.125% of par plus accrued interest using proceeds from the sale of its cathode business.

After the previous redemption, $315 million of the notes was outstanding.

The Wilmington, Del.-based graphite and carbon producer said in the filing that it may repurchase its senior notes or debentures from time to time in the open market.
