GPX International Tire seeks exclusivity extension to file plan

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 10 - GPX International Tire Corp. requested a 31-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to March 26 from Feb. 23 and the solicitation period to May 25 from April 24.

GPX cited the size and complexity of its cases and said it needs the extension "to permit the debtor and the committee to continue to work cooperatively towards filing a joint plan."

GPX makes specialty off-the-road tires for the agricultural, construction, materials handling and transportation industries and is based in Malden, Mass. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 27. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-20170.
