Altera to price $1 billion senior notes in two tranches

Virginia Beach, Oct. 28 - Altera Corp. is set to price $1 billion of senior notes in two tranches, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC are the joint bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including stock repurchases.

The semiconductor company is based in San Jose, Calif.
