Pittsburgh, July 31 - Gottschalks Inc. requested court approval of the bid protections for the proposed $3.35 million sale of its Eureka, Calif., property, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Hilco Real Estate Holdings, LLC is the stalking horse bidder.

If Gottschalks chooses another offer, it will pay Hilco a $100,000 break-up fee.
