Gordmans Stores plan OK’d by unsecured creditors; hearing cancelled

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 17 – Gordmans Stores, Inc.’s plan of liquidation was accepted by a majority of voting creditors, according to a notice filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska.

Specifically, the plan was accepted by 238 holders, or 93.7% in number, of $20.61 million, or 97.17% in amount, of general unsecured claims.

A total of 16 holders, or 6.3% in number, of $599,772, or 2.83% in amount, of those claims voted to reject the plan.

The plan confirmation was scheduled for Oct. 19. However, an entry on the company’s Chapter 11 case docket said that the hearing has been cancelled because no objections were filed.

The docket entry ordered Gordmans to file a proposed confirmation order with the court.

Omaha-based Gordmans is an everyday value-priced department store. The company filed bankruptcy on March 13 under Chapter 11 case number 17-80304.
