GS Finance to price buffered digital notes tied to MSCI EAFE index

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 4 – GS Finance Corp. intends to price 0% buffered digital notes due in 36 months linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the final index level on the determination date is greater than or equal to 80% of the initial index level, the payout will be par plus the greater of 10% and the index return.
If the final index level declines by more than 20%, investors will lose 1.25% for every 1% that the final index level has declined below 80% of the initial index level.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the agent.
The Cusip number is 40056ERK6.
