GS Finance plans 3.5-year buffered notes on Dow Jones Industrial Average

Olympia, Wash., June 5 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% buffered notes due in 3.5 years linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus the index return.

Investors will receive par if the index remains flat or declines by up to the buffer level and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond the buffer. The buffer level is expected to fall between 80% and 77% of the initial level and will be set at pricing.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the agent.

The Cusip number is 40055QE57.
