Goldman Sachs to price enhanced-participation notes linked to MSCI Emerging Markets index

New York, April 10 - The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. plans to price an issue of 0% enhanced-participation notes linked to the MSCI Emerging Markets index, according to a 424B3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to mature three years after the issue date.

Payout at maturity will be determined according to the index value on the determination date. If the index value rises, investors will receive par plus 1.5 times the return on the index, capped at between 42% and 48%. The exact cap will be determined at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index declines up to the downside threshold of 15%. If the index drops more than 15%, investors will receive the loss in excess of 15% times 1.176471.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. will be agent for the offering.
