New Issue: GS Finance prices $500,000 callable contingent coupon notes linked to S&P, Russell, EAFE ETF

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Feb. 21 – GS Finance Corp. priced $500,000 of callable contingent coupon notes due Feb. 21, 2019 linked to the S&P 500 index, the Russell 2000 index and the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

Each quarter, the notes will pay a contingent coupon at an annual rate of 8.1% if each underlier closes at or above its barrier level, 70% of its initial level, on the observation date for that quarter.

If the final level of each underlier is greater than or equal to its barrier level, the payout at maturity will be par plus the final coupon. Otherwise, investors will lose 1% for every 1% that the least-performing underlier declines from its initial level.

Beginning August 2017, the notes will be callable at par on any coupon payment date.
