GS Finance plans five-year buffered notes linked to S&P 500 index

Morgantown, W.Va., Aug. 10 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% buffered notes due Aug. 30, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain. The payout will be par if the index falls by up to 25%, and investors will be exposed to any index decline beyond 25%.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the agent.

The notes will price on Aug. 25.

The Cusip number is 40054KHB5.
