GS Finance plans to price trigger notes due 2017 linked to S&P 500

Morgantown, W.Va., April 19 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% trigger notes due Aug. 2, 2017 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the final index level is greater than or equal to 85% of the initial index level, the payout at maturity will be par plus 8.8%. If the final index level is less than 85% of the initial index level, investors will be fully exposed to the index’s decline from its initial level.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
The notes will price April 22.
The Cusip number is 40054KAW6.
