Goldman Sachs plans five-year buffered notes linked to S&P 500 index

Chicago, March 8 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% buffered notes due March 25, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to the 30% to 35% buffer and will be exposed to losses beyond the buffer, which the exact percentage to be set at pricing.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.

The notes will price on March 21 and settle on March 24.

The Cusip number is 40054K5Y8.
