Goldman Sachs plans leveraged buffered notes linked to S&P 500 index

Tacoma, Wash., Nov. 5 – Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due Nov. 30, 2020 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 1.1 times the index return. If the index return is zero or negative but not below between negative 17% and negative 20%, the payout will be par. The exact buffer amount will be set at pricing. If the index return is below the buffer amount, investors will lose 1% for every 1% that the index declines beyond the buffer amount.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the agent.
The notes are expected to price Nov. 24.
The Cusip number is 38148THE2.
