Goldman plans trigger return optimization notes on S&P MidCap 400

Chicago, Jan. 7 – Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% trigger return optimization securities due Jan. 31, 2018 linked to the S&P MidCap 400 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the index finishes above the initial level, the payout at maturity will be par of $10 plus 1.5 times the return, up to a maximum payout of $13.40 and $14.00 per $10 of notes.
If the index falls by up to the trigger level, 80% of the initial level, the payout will be par.
Otherwise, investors will be fully exposed to any losses.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the agent.
The notes will price on Jan. 27 and settle on Jan. 30.
The Cusip number is 38148K876.
