Goldman Sachs to price 4.2% notes linked to Russell 2000, MSCI EAFE

Tacoma, Wash., Jan. 22 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 4.2% notes linked to the Russell 2000 index and the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The tenor of the notes is expected to be about a year.

Interest will be payable monthly.

If the return of both indexes is greater than or equal to negative 15%, the payout at maturity will be par. Otherwise, the payout will be par minus 1.1765% for every 1% that the lesser performing index declines beyond 15%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.

The notes are expected to price in January.

The Cusip number is 38147QFX9.
