Goldman plans callable five-year step-up notes with 1.5% initial rate

Chicago, Jan. 21 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price callable step-up fixed-rate notes due January 2019, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The coupon will be 1.5% initially, stepping up to 2% in July 2015, to 3% in January 2017 and to 5% in January 2018. Interest is payable semiannually.
The payout at maturity will be par.
The notes will be callable at par on any quarterly date beginning July 2014.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
The notes will settle in January.
The Cusip number is 38147QFF8.
