Goldman Sachs to price leveraged notes linked to S&P 500 index

Madison, Wis., Jan. 7 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged notes due Jan. 28, 2015 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus double any index gain, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,143 for each $1,000 principal amount.

Investors will share in any losses.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter. JPMorgan is the placement agent.

The notes will price on Jan. 10 and settle on Jan. 15.

The Cusip number is 38147QCP9.
