Goldman Sachs plans leveraged buffered notes linked to iShares MSCI EM

Tacoma, Wash., Oct. 21 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets index fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The tenor of the notes is expected to be 24 to 27 months.

If the fund return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus two times the fund return, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,230 to $1,270 per $1,000 principal amount of notes. If the fund declines by 5% or less, the payout will be par. Otherwise, investors will lose 1.0526% for every 1% that the fund declines beyond 5%.

The exact maturity date and maximum settlement amount will be set at pricing.
