Goldman Sachs to price callable step-up notes with 4.5% initial rate

Madison, Wis., Feb. 2 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price callable step-up fixed-rate notes due Feb. 18, 2022, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The coupon will be 4.5% for the first six years. It will step up to 5% on Feb. 18, 2017 and to 8% on Feb. 18, 2019. Interest will be payable semiannually.

The payout at maturity will be par.

The notes will be callable at par on Feb. 18, May 18, Aug. 18 and Nov. 18 of each year beginning Aug. 18, 2011.

The notes (Cusip: 38143URF0) will settle Feb. 18.

Goldman Sachs & Co. and Incapital LLC are the underwriters.
