New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $12.33 million notes linked to five commodities

Tacoma, Wash., Jan. 7 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $12.33 million of 0% commodity basket-linked notes due Jan. 23, 2013 linked to five commodities, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket includes the Nymex February 2012 West Texas Intermediate light sweet crude oil futures contract with a 40% weight, the London Metals Exchange January 2012 copper - grade A futures contract with a 20% weight, the Nymex January 2012 platinum futures contract with a 20% weight, the CBOT March 2012 soybean futures contract with a 10% weight and the ICE Futures March 2012 cotton No. 2 futures contract with a 10% weight.

The notes priced at 100.3.

The payout at maturity will be par plus the basket return, which could be positive or negative.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
