New Issue: Goldman Sachs sells $1.94 million leveraged index-linked notes on S&P 500

Chicago, Aug. 13 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $1.94 million of 0% leveraged index-linked notes due May 1, 2012 based on the performance of the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,298.50 per $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will be exposed to any losses.
Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
