Goldman eyes 12-month basket-linked notes on five commodity contracts

Chicago, Dec. 30 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 12-month commodity basket-linked notes tied to a basket of five commodities futures contracts, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket consists of the WTI crude oil contract with a 40% weight, the copper contract with a 20% weight, the platinum contract with a 20% weight, the soybean contract with a 10% weight and the cotton contract with a 10% weight.

The notes will price at between 100 and 102.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any basket gain.

Investors will be exposed to any losses.
