New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $6.15 million buffered notes linked to MSCI EAFE

Tacoma, Wash., Oct. 2 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $6.15 million of 0% buffered equity index-linked notes due May 9, 2012 linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain. Investors will receive par if the index declines by 20% or less and will lose 1.25% for every 1% that it declines beyond 20%.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
