Goldman Sachs to sell leveraged buffered notes linked to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, Aug. 27 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will mature 24 to 26 months after issue.

Payout at maturity will be par plus 150% of any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of between $1,420 and $1,540 per $1,000 note.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for every 1% decline in the index beyond 10%.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. will be the underwriter.

Pricing and settlement dates were not disclosed in the filing.
