New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $38.38 million leveraged notes linked to MSCI EAFE

Chicago, May 2 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $38.38 million of 0% leveraged notes due May 7, 2013 linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Payout at maturity will be par plus 169% of any index gain.
If the index falls by up to 15%, the payout will be par. Investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 15%.
Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
