Goldman Sachs plans leveraged notes linked to MSCI EAFE

Des Moines, Feb. 7 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price leveraged notes linked to the MSCI EAFE index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are expected to mature in 18 to 21 months.
If final index level is at least initial level, the payout at maturity will be par plus 300% of any gain on the index, capped at a maximum payout equal to 121% of par.
If the index declines by up to 10%, the payout will be par. Investors will lose about 1.1111% for each 1% that the index declines beyond 10%.
