Goldman Sachs updates shelf registration to include another $30 billion

Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 12 - The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. added $30 billion to its shelf registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

The filing allows the company to issue debt securities, warrants, purchase contracts, units, preferred and common stock, depositary shares, capital securities of its subsidiaries and guarantees of those securities. Securities may be issued as convertibles.

Goldman Sachs is a New York-based financial services firm.
